Poppy & Crumb Redesign
Project Type
Front-End Development, Web Design
Date
April 2023
For this capstone project, I chose to tap into my front-end development and user experience skills to redesign a local business's mobile app. Poppy and Crumb is a local business that wanted to see how a redesign of their site might look.
This project primarily highlighted my front-end development skills while also showcasing my secondary strengths in UX/UI design. Poppy &Crumb is my sister’s cookie business, and I wanted to help expand her vision of what her website could look like with a potential redesign. Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with her and incorporated authentic business assets to create a design that reflected her brand’s personality and goals.
Several key moments stood out in my design and development process. I began by researching the strengths and weaknesses of the existing website to identify areas for improvement. Using Figma, I created low-fidelity wireframes to explore layout and structure, which I later refined into high-fidelity prototypes that better represented the final design direction.
For the development phase, I used VS Code as my primary code editor and GitHub as my public repository. I started by building the site’s foundation with HTML and CSS, then implemented JavaScript elements to add interactivity. Through continuous testing, revisions, and problem-solving, I was able to transform my concepts into a fully functional and responsive webpage.
The result was a functional, responsive, mobile-first webpage. It can be viewed on GitHub.com link: https://cabacon1.github.io/GIT480-Senior/index.html.
